Environmental Staff Scientist 1

The Environmental Staff Scientist will collaborate with planners, engineers, and environmental scientists on a diverse portfolio of environmental investigation, remediation, and infrastructure projects throughout New England. This is an entry-level opportunity for May 2027 graduates to gain practical experience delivering environmental consulting services while building technical skills.

What You Will Do

Conduct Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, collect soil and groundwater samples, analyze field data, prepare GIS maps, and assist with technical reports and regulatory submittals.

Requirements

• BS in Environmental Science, Geology, Environmental Engineering or a related field
• 0 to 2 years' experience conducting environmental investigation, remediation, MCP compliance
• Familiarity with GPS field instruments and processes
• Ability to record and reduce field notes
• Excellent time management, and ability to manage multiple assignments
• Proficient in the use of current technology (i.e., tablets, smart phones, laptops, etc.)
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong technical aptitude and an eagerness to learn
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
• Must be able to lift/move objects weighing up to 40 pounds
• Must be able to perform field work in both hot and cold weather (rain and/or snow)
• Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time
• Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
