Job Description
Role Overview

The Epidemiologist I will work with the Population Health and Research Office (PHAR) to conduct research, public health surveillance, analysis, and interpretation of public health data to understand health equity and the determinants of health. The role will provide epidemiological support to BPHC public health programs and initiatives, policymakers, and community organizations.

What You Will Do

The Epidemiologist I will analyze and interpret public health data, perform epidemiological and statistical analyses, and prepare results for review. The role will also involve collecting, assessing, and disseminating public health surveillance and program data, and working with BPHC programs to identify and analyze surveillance data relevant to program priorities.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in public health or related field or BA/BS with equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Understanding of epidemiological concepts and quantitative methodologies
  • Experience analyzing public health data using SAS, SPSS, Stata, and/or Epi Info
  • Experience analyzing BRFSS, YRBS, or other complex survey design data
  • Experience managing data using Excel, Access, Epi Info, or other database software
  • Excellent organizational, oral, and writing skills
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred
