Equipment Operator (SW Transfer Station)

Perform skilled work in the operation of equipment at a solid waste transfer station, regulating traffic and maintaining safety.

Operate heavy equipment, maintain equipment and facilities, and ensure safe waste disposal.

Requirements

• Six (6) months of heavy equipment operation
• Graduation from high school or equivalent
• Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions
• Ability to perform operations safely
• Knowledge of the proper procedures for operating, inspecting and maintaining assigned equipment and tools
• Ability to perform heavy manual tasks for extended periods of time
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
• Knowledge of City ordinance pertaining to municipal solid waste collection and disposal services
• Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance
