Role OverviewWe are seeking a qualified candidate for a Heavy Infrastructure Estimator based in our Salem office. This position will prepare cost estimates at different levels of design for various delivery systems such as General Contractor (CMGC), Design Build, and Hard Bid. Projects will consist of wastewater treatment facilities, potable water treatment facilities, hydro-power facilities, fisheries, pipelines, and various water infrastructure ranging from $1-250 million dollars.
What You Will Do
Prepare cost estimates on proposals, projects, and studies. Adjust productivity, material prices, and means / methods depending on varying project conditions. Review solicitation documents such as specifications and drawings to identify risks and opportunities related to competitive pricing.
Why It Might Be a Fit
This role requires a strong understanding of civil construction methods, with a focus on treatment facilities, pump stations, & dams. You will work with designers and project managers through all levels of design from conceptual to 100% complete. Cost control and scheduling exposure is a plus.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of previous experience on heavy construction projects or industrial projects
- Minimum of 5 years of estimating experience in heavy civil or water infrastructure construction
- Strong understanding of civil construction methods, with a focus on treatment facilities, pump stations, & dams
- Proficient in estimating software (e.g., HCSS, Sage Estimating, Bid2Win) and Microsoft Excel
- Ability to read and interpret civil, structural, and mechanical drawings, specifications, & geotechnical reports
