Role Overview

The Events and Outreach Coordinator is responsible for managing Career and Education community events, internal and external, on or off site. The position involves planning, design, and production of Career and Education tribal events, ensuring deadlines and budgets are adhered to. The Coordinator will also weave Port Gamble S’Klallam Career and Education Goals into tribal community and staff events where necessary and when possible.

What You Will Do

Responsibilities include maintaining a calendar of Career and Education Community Events, managing event logistics, developing procedures for event planning, design, and production, serving as a liaison between the Tribe and external clients/vendors/visitors, and tracking pre-and post-event evaluations.

Requirements

  • A High School Diploma is required and an Associate’s degree is preferred.
  • 2 years’ experience as an event coordinator, event planner, event manager, or program manager preferred.
  • Possess strong technical, interpersonal, and communication skills with the ability to persuade external and internal clients on proposed ideas and implementation strategies.
  • Substantial knowledge and experience with computers and MS Office proficiency.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, including demonstrated ability to select, train, develop, mentor, and motivate staff.
