Role OverviewAs the Events Manager, you will ensure the execution, logistics, and operations of Rise Against Hunger’s volunteer meal packing events. You will lead volunteers in setting-up and executing small to medium-sized events, manage warehouse operations, and solve complex problems to ensure events run smoothly.
What You Will Do
You will facilitate volunteers and train staff on packaging procedures, adjust volunteer assignments, and transport raw materials and equipment to mobile packaging locations. You will also manage warehouse operations, track and record meal production, and enforce safe and effective practices.
Why It Might Be a Fit
You will take the lead in program promotion, developing relationships with supporting organizations, and seeking out speaking opportunities. You will also be responsible for recruiting and training part-time team members and managing inventory and requisition procedures.
Requirements
- Associate degree or two years of work experience
- Proficiency in Google/Microsoft office suite and cloud-based software
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting or operating pallet jacks
- Compliance with DOT regulations and maintenance of DOT certification
- Flexibility to work weekends and some evenings
