Role OverviewAs an Executive Agency Counsel, you will be a senior legal advisor for the Agency in support of HPD's property tax exemptions and abatements. You will perform complex legal work in the areas under TIHSD’s jurisdiction, including drafting legislation and rules, reviewing proposed legislation and rules, and analyzing federal, state, and local statutes and regulations.
What You Will Do
Your responsibilities may include performing difficult and complex legal work related to tax incentives and housing supervision, drafting and reviewing proposed state and local legislation and regulations, and handling other complex legal issues.

The ideal candidate will have excellent writing, legal research, and analytic skills, as well as the ability to draft legislation and rules, review and analyze proposed legislation and rules, and liaise with litigation to protect Agency programs and processes.
Requirements
- Admission to the New York State Bar
- Four years of recent full-time responsible, relevant, satisfactory legal experience subsequent to admission to any bar
- 18 months of experience in supervision of other attorneys in an administrative, managerial or executive capacity, or performing highly complex and significant legal work
