Role Overview

The Executive Director is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing facilities and/or operational areas within the Y, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and delivering high-impact results. This role also provides direct supervision and mentorship to their leadership team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and excellence.

What You Will Do

The Executive Director will personally represent and promote the YMCA, develop and maintain collaborative relationships with community agencies, and direct the financial development activities of the branch. They will also oversee the hiring, training, development, coaching, and supervision of staff, and lead a learning culture of innovation, equity, accountability, and professional growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human services, social services, business or equivalent
  • Five or more years of management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency
  • Ability to lead total operations through volunteer development, supervision of staff, development and monitoring of branch budget, and program development
  • Experience in management and development of volunteer involvement; ability to recruit top community leaders
  • Ability to effectively supervise & communicate and collaborate in a multi-faceted matrix management environment
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
  • Proven track record of developing authentic relationships with others
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations
