Executive Steward

Join the Stewarding team at Hyatt Regency Houston-Downtown as an Executive Steward. This role is a key member of the culinary team, responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the hotel's stewarding department, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and maintenance in all food production and service areas. You will manage, train, and schedule stewarding staff to uphold Hyatt's commitment to excellence and guest satisfaction.

What You Will Do

Lead the daily operations of the stewarding department across kitchens, outlets, receiving and storage areas, employee dining, and banquet support. Organize logistics for banquet events, coordinate delivery and setup of serviceware, maintain sanitation and food safety standards, recruit and train staff, manage inventory and cost control, and ensure equipment maintenance and compliance with safety regulations.

Requirements

• Two (2) years previous experience in a similar role within a hospitality or food & beverage setting is required
• Strong leadership and team management abilities
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Understanding of sanitation standards and safety regulations
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively under pressure
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred
• Self-starting personality with a calm and even temperament
• Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times
• Willingness to assist co-workers and collaborate effectively as part of a team
• Ability to withstand prolonged periods of standing and/or walking, and lift at least 50 lbs
