Role OverviewThe Division of Environmental Health seeks a Exterminator L-I for its Bureau of Veterinary and Pest Control Services. The Exterminator will inspect premises, investigate complaints of infestation, and determine the appropriate method of extermination to be used. The Exterminator will also instruct the public on safety and precautions before and after application of pesticides.
What You Will Do
Inspecting premises and investigating complaints of infestation, determining the appropriate method of extermination, properly baiting areas, maintaining extermination schedules, keeping records, and instructing the public on safety and precautions.

Requirements
- Valid certificate as a Certified Commercial Pesticide Applicator for Industrial, Institutional, structural and Rodent Control (7A) issued by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation
- Motor Vehicle Driver License valid in the State of New York
- Two years of full-time satisfactory practical experience in the preparation and use of insecticides, rodenticides, baits, traps, and related chemicals/equipment for the extermination of insects, vermin and other pests (for Assignment Level II)
- Three years of experience, including two years of full-time satisfactory practical experience in the preparation and use of insecticides, rodenticides, baits, traps, and related chemicals/equipment for the extermination of insects, vermin and other pests, and one year of full-time satisfactory experience in a supervisory capacity (for Assignment Level III)
