Facilities Operations Manager

The Facilities Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring all aspects of daily operations of university facilities are performed to a high level and are continuously improving in order to provide a safe, healthy, and comfortable environment for students, faculty, and staff.

What You Will Do

Develops, documents, and maintains a robust plant operational program, including building a culture of hospitality, developing and maintaining written custodial expectations, and ensuring staff receive training related to specific job tasks and responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will have eight or more years of progressively more responsible experience in building management and operations, with three or more years of supervisory experience, or a combination of education and experience commensurate with the requirements of this position.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction project management, or other related field
• Eight or more years of progressively more responsible experience in building management and operations, with three or more years of supervisory experience
• Knowledge of custodial products, procedures, equipment, and safety requirements
• Ability to learn, utilize, and train others on software systems related to Plant Operations Management tasks
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Knowledge of inventory management principles and practices
• Proven leadership and managerial skills with a large, diverse workforce
• Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with university faculty, staff, administrators, and governing boards
• Ability to effectively communicate ideas and information in written and oral format to administrative staff, professional colleagues, governing boards
• Excellent planning and organizational skills
• Attentiveness to detail
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software applications
