Role OverviewAs a Facility Maintenance Specialist 1, you will work under general direction to complete basic preventative maintenance, repairs, and installations on electrical wiring systems, fixtures, and controls, plumbing systems, HVAC and mechanical equipment, and structural systems. You will also assist higher-level workers with the operation and maintenance of low-pressure boilers and clean boiler-related equipment.
What You Will Do
Your main day-to-day responsibilities will include installing and replacing lighting fixtures, repairing and installing plumbing fixtures, performing basic wiring of single and three-phase motors, and assisting with the operation and maintenance of low-pressure boilers.

To be a fit for this role, you will need to possess a valid driver's license, a valid commercial driver license if required, and completion of OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety Certification Course. You will also need to have experience in construction and building maintenance, including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
Requirements
- Completion of post-secondary training in facilities maintenance technology, industrial trades technology, or comparable training program
- 1 year of experience in construction/building maintenance that included carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC
- Valid driver's license
- Valid commercial driver license if required
- Completion of OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety Certification Course
