Role Overview

The Family and Health Advocate builds trusting relationships with families and provides ongoing support to meet Head Start/Early Head Start/Preschool for All/Prevention Initiative requirements. This role is ideal for someone who has respect for children and families with diverse values and cultures and is passionate about achieving positive child and family outcomes through high-quality engagement.

What You Will Do

The Family and Health Advocate will develop and maintain professional partnerships with administrative and teaching staff, evaluate needs, and provide support to sites in meeting the Head Start Program Performance Standards and PFA/PI requirements. They will also provide ongoing support to families through monthly contacts, family assessments, and referrals to meet family needs and interests.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in social work, human services, family services, counseling, or a related field
  • Bilingual ability (English/Spanish)
  • Valid driver's license
