Role OverviewThe Family Nurse Practitioner provides quality, comprehensive primary health care services to the Center’s Rheumatology patients consulting with supervising physician and abiding by appropriate clinical protocols.
What You Will Do
Examines, diagnoses, treats and/or refers Rheumatology patients assigned to physician’s panel, on an out-patient basis. Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assess medical conditions consulting with supervising physician.

Must possess a current unrestricted license to practice as a mid-level (NP/PA) in the State of Texas. Annual continuing medical education as required by board specialty. Must be registered and have current DEA.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree from accredited university in a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Program
- Board Certified AANP, ANCC or related
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in Family Medicine
- Specialty in Rheumatology or similar specialty preferred
- Strong experience with EMR/EMR systems
- Must possess a current unrestricted license to practice as a mid-level (NP/PA) in the State of Texas
- Annual continuing medical education as required by board specialty
- Must be registered and have current DEA
- Bilingual in English and Spanish highly preferred
- Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), American Heart Association
