Role Overview

The Family Peer Specialist will serve as a liaison to families by connecting them to resources and support services. The position plays a critical role in empowering families, amplifying constituent voice, and bridging gaps between families and ACS program areas or contracted service providers.

What You Will Do

Respond to inquiries, support parents and caregivers, provide peer-to-peer support, mentorship, and advocacy, act as a liaison between families and ACS divisions, document constituent contact, connect families to community-based resources, and participate in outreach efforts.

Requirements

  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above
  • High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above
  • Education and/or experience which is equivalent to '1' or '2' above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in '1' above
