Role Overview

As a Family Support Specialist, you will work with children and adolescents, using expressive arts and mindfulness to help them build resilience and express their emotions in healthy ways.

What You Will Do

Manage an assigned caseload, working alongside clinicians and families to carry out each youth's clinical treatment plan through direct intervention, crisis intervention, and case management.

Requirements

  • Ability to teach positive behavior and stress management
  • Ability to provide crisis intervention
  • Ability to build strong rapport with families
  • Flexibility to adapt to the needs of youth and families
  • Knowledge of child development, positive parenting techniques, and available community resources
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of mental health challenges, child development, personality development, and modalities of treatment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Interest in providing services to children and adolescents
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English or Creole and English (preferred)
