Role OverviewThe Fiber Technician will perform various tasks related to fiber optic installation, testing, and splicing. The role requires 100% travel within the USA and involves working at heights, off a ladder, and in confined spaces. The Fiber Technician must be self-motivated, positive in approach, and professional. The role involves installing racks, patch panels, fiber optic, and hardware, as well as performing testing and troubleshooting using OTDR and other tools.
What You Will Do
The Fiber Technician will perform tasks such as installing LC, SC, ST, FC, FDDI, SMA, and MPO/MTP connectors, terminating simplex and duplex jumper cord, and calculating end-to-end loss budgets in accordance with TIA/EIA standards. The role also involves providing onsite support after business hours and traveling to various sites as needed.
