What You Will Do
The Field Mechanic will be responsible for performing mechanic duties on various pieces of machinery and operating equipment, including hydraulic and electrical system trouble shooting and diagnostic skills. They will also be required to use cutting torches and other shop-related tools, and have basic computer skills for Excel-based systems and/or OEM diagnostic systems.

Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years mechanic experience working on construction equipment, preferably asphalt paving equipment
- Able to work flexible hours as required, including overtime/weekends and holidays
- Able to work in a team environment with a positive attitude and must be able to get along with your co-workers
- Able to follow written and oral instructions
- Must have own tools up to 3⁄4” drive mechanical and pneumatic and other tools required to perform job tasks
- Must be able to stick weld mild steel as a minimum requirement
- Able to use cutting torches and all other shop related tools
- Able to read and understand hydraulic and electrical schematics
- Hydraulic and electrical system trouble shooting and diagnostic skills required
- Basic computer skills for Excel based systems and/or OEM diagnostic systems
- Able to use hands and fingers to manipulate objects/climb ladders/work at heights/stoop/kneel/crawl/crouch and move objects up to 50 lbs
- Able to wear PPE as required to perform job duties safely
- Must have state issued drivers license for up to 26,000# vehicles
- Able to follow the safety policies of West Virginia Paving Inc./prime contractor and companies we perform work for
- Must pass drug test and background check
