Job Description
The FinOps Cloud Engineer will serve as a bridge between engineering, finance, and operations teams, managing, optimizing, and reporting on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) costs.
Requirements
Collaborates with engineering, architecture, and finance teams
Monitor and analyze GCP usage
Manage and optimize Committed Use Discounts (CUDs), Sustained Use Discounts, and other pricing mechanisms
Identifies opportunities to automate cost-reporting, budget thresholds, and anomaly detection activities
Work closely with cloud engineering teams
Assist in the development, support & planning of FinOps tools, dashboards, and reporting infrastructure
Investigate, triage, and resolve unexpected spikes in cloud billing and usage
Utilize native GCP billing tools and third-party FinOps dashboards
