Job Description
We are seeking a Fire Protection Designer to lead Revit production and preparation of fire protection construction documents for multiple projects. The role will involve working on a variety of market sectors, including DOD, Federal and Private Space Industry projects, and will be offered in a hybrid work environment with a combination of in-office collaboration and remote work flexibility.

Requirements

  • Lead Revit production and preparation of fire protection construction documents for multiple projects
  • Produce complex floor plans, riser diagrams, schedules, details, and equipment layouts for new and renovation projects
  • Work independently with minimal oversight
  • Coordinate Revit models with mechanical, electrical, structural, and architectural disciplines
  • Discuss design during architect/client design review meetings and coordinate design development
  • Lead clash detection and resolution coordination issues during design development
  • Manage drawing deliverables, deadlines, and production priorities for assigned projects
  • Prepare design calculations and selection of equipment for building fire protection systems
  • Write and edit fire protection specifications, engineering reports, and other technical design documentation
  • Familiarity with applicable industry codes and standards and apply requirements to project designs
  • Support construction administration through submittal reviews, RFIs, punch walks, field revisions, and as-built updates
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to internal standards, training, and quality control procedures
  • Support proposals, bid site visits, and business development efforts as needed
