Job Description
Black & Veatch is hiring a Fire Protection Engineer to participate in design execution efforts, review and evaluate facility and equipment, and communicate fire protection requirements to clients. The role involves generating detailed fire protection specifications, piping and instrument diagrams, and performing hydraulic calculations. The team is responsible for designing systems associated with heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) in buildings, as well as plumbing and fire protection systems. The ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge in state and local codes and standards, fire protection design, construction and constructability practices, and procurement and contract administration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from a recognized accredited program
  • Minimum of 5 years related work experience
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) or in active pursuit of such licensure
  • Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected)
  • Advanced knowledge in state and local codes and standards
  • Fire protection design for Power Plants, Oil and Gas processing facility, Water treatment facility or Data Centers
  • Construction & constructability practices & principles
  • Procurement & contract administration
