Job Description
The Fiscal Analyst position works directly with legislators, researching, analyzing, summarizing, and presenting data to support the legislative process. The role involves providing fiscal analysis, working with legislators, performing original research, and providing reports to the legislature. The work cycle changes throughout the legislative calendar, with intense work during the session and more relaxed work during the off-season.

Requirements

  • Conduct independent analysis and research
  • Prioritize and manage multiple projects at any one time
  • Interpret and analyze legislative proposals and emerging fiscal issues
  • Analyze revenue and expenditure information, state and federal statutes, and financial materials
  • Understand, query, and analyze data from statewide databases and financial management systems
  • Develop and maintain data models to analyze historical fiscal trends and project long-term fiscal impacts
  • Relay complex information to diverse audiences
