Job Description
Responsible for the accounting and fiscal functions of the Berks County Workforce Development Board and PA CareerLink Berks County. Provides strong leadership and management of the fiscal administration function, classifies, analyzes, and reports financial information using generally accepted accounting principles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field with five years of relevant experience and progressive responsibility
  • Associate degree in Accounting or a related field with seven years of relevant experience and progressive responsibility
  • Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles with an emphasis on Fund accounting and/or Cost accounting
  • Experience with public and private grant programs
  • Working knowledge of integrated enterprise resource planning (ERP) financial systems (Oracle/Hyperion)
  • Supervisory skills to oversee assigned staff
  • Ability to read and interpret complex rules and regulations written by Federal, State and Local legislative and administrative bodies
  • General understanding of Berks County regional economic and workforce development strategies, priorities, and challenges
  • Extensive knowledge of Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act regulations and Federal OMB circular
  • Excellent personal computer skills in MS Excel and a working knowledge of MS Word, MS Access, and MS Power Point software
  • Good written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to handle stress
  • Physical presence in the office is required
