Job Description
The Fisheries Technician 5 position is based in Townsend, Montana, and involves working with cold and cool water species. The job requires excellent work habits, technical ability, and applied knowledge, as well as the ability to work in and around water in adverse conditions.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of fisheries science principles, fish sampling methods, stream flow monitoring, and water safety
  • Ability to work in and around water in adverse and hazardous conditions, including inclement weather
  • Good health and physical condition
  • Variable work schedule, including work outside of normal business days and hours and overnight stays in remote field locations
  • Ability to work closely with local FWP staff, partner agencies, NGOs, and the public
