Job Description
Role Overview

The Fleet Dispatcher works a rotating schedule, dispatching loads to customers, promoting safety, and communicating with drivers and customer service. They prioritize loads, track and trace loads, and assist drivers in planning routes and building loads. The Fleet Dispatcher also monitors store inventories, complies with corporate policies, and carries out additional duties assigned by the CSC Manager.

A day in the life of a Fleet Dispatcher includes promoting safety, controlling and completing paperwork, planning driver trips, communicating with drivers and customer service, and prioritizing loads for timely delivery.

Requirements

  • High School Education or equivalent
  • One year experience dispatching or in the customer service area
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations, federal and state standards
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
  • Self-starter with detail oriented work habits
  • Able to maintain confidentiality
  • Display professional demeanor
  • Good interpersonal skills; able to work well with wide range of individuals
  • Demonstrate dependability through good attendance and adherence to timelines and schedules
  • Basic computer skills (word & excel)
  • Knowledge of basic company employment policies and procedures
