Role Overview

This is an entry-level internship in the Fleet Operations Division at the El Paso District Headquarters in Texas. The role involves maintaining and repairing a variety of vehicles and equipment, from small vehicles like pickup trucks to heavy equipment such as dozers and loaders used in road maintenance projects. Interns will work alongside seasoned mechanics and receive classroom and hands-on training.

What You Will Do

Perform inspections on vehicles and equipment, support shop technicians with maintenance and repair of heavy equipment, assist with preparing vehicles for sale and new equipment for service, prepare pool vehicles for use, complete repair order documentation, pick up parts from local vendors, and shuttle vehicles to and from vendors.

Requirements

  • Must be a student in high school or other educational institution or accepted into a college, university or educational institution
  • No experience required
  • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • Must be a student currently enrolled in high school or any institution of higher education to include a trade/vocational school
  • Employees at least 18 years of age with valid driver's license may be assigned driving duties and may use power tools
