Job Description
World Group is seeking a Fleet Manager to join their team in Houston. The Fleet Manager will oversee a fleet of owner-operators, ensuring efficient delivery performance, compliance with regulations, and building lasting relationships with contractors. This role requires 2-5 years of intermodal/container transportation experience and a working knowledge of DOT regulations.

Requirements

  • Leadership and supervision of a fleet of owner-operators
  • Monitoring and ensuring effective delivery performance, fleet profitability, and compliance with regulations
  • Assigning equipment as needed
  • Maximizing efficiency and profitability of every delivery
  • Overseeing fair and equitable distribution of loads amongst contractors
  • Planning and executing order of deliveries to create efficient load drop-offs and pick-ups
  • Negotiating rates with contractors outside of the ICOA
  • Developing lasting relationships with fleet of contractors to improve performance and encourage retention
  • Resolving customer/terminal/rail disputes involving contractors
  • Monitoring contractor’s compliance and taking appropriate action related to DOT regulations and hours of service
