Role OverviewPerforms skilled work in the maintenance and repair of SMSC-owned light, medium, and heavy vehicles, and equipment. Performs preventative maintenance to ensure that all vehicles are safe and mechanically sound.
What You Will Do
Perform skilled diagnostic and repair procedures on light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks, vans, buses, generators, small engine, and heavy equipment owned by the SMSC. Performs preventive maintenance on SMSC-owned vehicles, generators, heavy-equipment, and small engine equipment.

Requirements
- Technical school graduate with an automotive or truck degree, or 4 years of experience in an automotive or truck repair facility
- High School graduate or GED
- Valid D driver’s license required upon hire
- Class A Driver's License Required - training provided by SMSC within 1 year of hire
- Industrial Truck Driving permit may be required (forklift) with training available
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of small engine repair
- Proficiency in maintaining safety while handling potential fumes, chemicals, odors, and/or noise
- Has the physical abilities to perform the required job duties with or without accommodations, including on feet 75% of time
- Capacity to handle and lift up to 75 lbs. as needed
- Ability to move in a variety of motions including bending, squatting, crawling, kneeling, twisting, pulling, and/ or pushing
