Role OverviewThe Food Safety Coordinator is responsible for managing and ensuring the implementation of Safe Quality Food (SQF) standards within the harvesting and processing operations. This role involves overseeing the SQF program to ensure compliance with food safety and quality requirements, facilitating audits, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
What You Will Do
Develop and lead the implementation of the SQF system at the facility, coordinate monthly SQF meetings, stay current on SQF updates, and communicate changes to the Food Safety and Food Quality Team.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of HACCP, GMPs, and SSOPs, and be able to effectively communicate in English and Spanish. They will also have practical knowledge of FSIS regulations for meat products and plant sanitation practices.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Must be able to effectively communicate in English (reading, writing, speaking).
- HACCP certified or have ability to obtain certification.
- SQF certified or have ability to obtain certification.
- Bachelor of Science in the following disciplines: Biology, Microbiology, Food Science, Animal Science, or other biological sciences.
- 3 years of experience in Quality Assurance / Food Safety in the meat industry.
- Ability to effectively communicate in Spanish (read, write, and speak).
