Role OverviewOversees construction, maintenance, and repairs of track; supervising and directing other gang members. Requires Class A CDL. Line of Road Gang - Overnight Shift; 2000 - 0700, Days off - Thursday, Friday, Saturday.
What You Will Do
Oversees employees in performance of work and provides guidance in resolution of routine problems. Builds, repairs, and maintains track. Directs and instructs operator of equipment assigned to the gang.
Why It Might Be a Fit
Must have at least one year of responsible supervisory experience in track maintenance in Class 4 or higher. Must be capable of operating all FEC Maintenance of Way vehicles in its fleet regardless of transmission configuration.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license and valid credentials required by federal and state laws, including CDL Class B
- Standard railroad watch
- FRA Track Safety Standards Part 213 Subpart A to G
- A & B qualifications
- At least one year of responsible supervisory experience in track maintenance in Class 4 or higher
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
- Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
