Role Overview

The Forensic Analyst provides investigative and analytical support for cold case homicide and sexual assault investigations, and supports the Office in gathering forensic evidence reports. The role is part of the Forensic Science Unit, which oversees all cases with forensic science evidence, including DNA, fingerprints, and ballistics.

What You Will Do

Specific duties include assisting NYPD Cold Case detectives in identifying unsolved homicide and sexual assault cases with forensic evidence, maintaining a database of unsolved case files, and collaborating with the BXDA Forensic Science Unit, NYPD, and OCME to identify and submit evidence for forensic testing.

Requirements
