Job Description
The Bronx District Attorney's Office, specifically the Forensic Science Unit, is hiring a Forensic Investigative Genealogist to assist in identifying unknown suspects and victims through genealogical research. This role focuses on cases with forensic evidence, including DNA, fingerprints, and ballistics, and collaborating with other law enforcement to build family trees and support cold case investigations. The position requires proficiency in genetic genealogy and case management, collaborating with various departments.
Requirements
Independent tree-building for forensic investigations.
Maintaining databases and case files for unsolved cases.
Preparing and testifying in court.
Collaborating with law enforcement and forensic science units.
Assist with cold case investigations and STR/SNP testing.
Order and distribute laboratory reports.
Backup for lab reporting and other tasks.
