Front Office Specialist II/Medical Assistant

In this dual Front Office Specialist II and Medical Assistant role, you’ll perform clinical and non-clinical duties, gather patient information, and work with the healthcare team to assess and provide appropriate care for low-acuity pediatric patients.

What You Will Do

You’ll collect and document patient information, vital signs, medications, allergies, and reasons for visits accurately, administer medications and immunizations, collect and process specimens, and perform laboratory tests.

Requirements

• Collects and documents patient information, vital signs, medications, allergies, and reasons for visits accurately
• Administers medications and immunizations as directed by the physician
• Collects and processes specimens, performs laboratory tests and quality checks, and follows applicable laboratory and safety requirements
• Coordinates outside laboratory services, tracks results, and notifies providers of results and testing issues
• Screens calls, documents messages, and provides telephone guidance and prescription refill support under provider direction and site protocols
• Coordinates referrals and verifies patient demographics, insurance coverage, and required visit documentation
• Processes billing information, collects payments, balances daily transactions, and assists with billing questions and denial prevention
• Maintains accurate, confidential medical records and processes record requests and correspondence according to practice protocols
