Role OverviewThe Cook is responsible for preparing and serving daily meals according to dietary needs, ensuring food temperature controls, and maintaining proper food storage practices. The role involves reading recipes, preparation, and serving of meals, as well as cleaning and sanitizing of cooking utensils and food storage units.
What You Will Do
The main day-to-day responsibilities include cooking food according to menus, recipes, and diet sheets, understanding and adhering to residents' nutritional needs, and following HACCP standards for preparing, handling, serving, and storing food.
Why It Might Be a Fit
To be a fit for this role, you should have a ServSafe Food Handler certificate or be willing to obtain one, and have one or more years of culinary training or equivalent cooking experience. You should also be able to work a minimum of every other weekend and holidays.
