Job Description
The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction is seeking a General Activities Therapist 2 to work in a correctional institution. The therapist will plan and conduct recreational activities for inmates and serve as a member of the interdisciplinary team. The job requires a associate degree in recreational area or equivalent experience.

Requirements

  • Plans, conducts, implements, and monitors general recreation, personal development, structured therapeutic, and entertainment activities for inmates
  • Serves as a member of the interdisciplinary team and analyzes, assesses, evaluates, defines, and recommends group and/or individual treatment goals and activities
  • Observes participants during activities
  • Serves in an instructional capacity for inmates
  • Prepares and maintains work-related documentation
  • Performs security functions as required
  • Participates and attends meetings, conferences, and/or training sessions
  • Responsible for storage, issuance, and maintenance of supplies
  • Picks up and delivers production goods
  • Performs job and fixture set-up
  • Relieves supervisor in their absence
