General Activities Therapist 2

The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction is seeking a General Activities Therapist 2 to plan, conduct, and implement general recreation, personal development, and therapeutic activities for inmates. The role requires serving as a member of an interdisciplinary team, analyzing and assessing treatment goals, and preparing documentation. The position involves performing security functions, participating in meetings, and performing various work-related tasks.

What You Will Do

The successful candidate will plan and conduct activities such as softball, basketball, volleyball, ping-pong, arts and crafts, woodworking, swimming, and exercises for inmates. They will also serve as a member of an interdisciplinary team, analyzing and assessing treatment goals, and preparing documentation.

The successful candidate will have experience in coaching, personal training, and/or fitness instruction, or providing work direction to incarcerated persons and training and/or development.

Requirements

• 30 mos. exp. with coaching, personal training, &/or fitness instruction or 30 mos. exp. providing work direction to incarcerated persons & training &/or development.
• Or completion of associate degree in recreation; 12 mos. exp. in activity therapy or recreation.
• Or completion of undergraduate core program in recreation; 6 mos. exp. in activity therapy or recreation.
• Or 6 mos. exp. as General Activities Therapist 1, 44211.
• Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
