Role Overview

The General Counsel serves as the primary legal advisor to executive leadership, overseeing corporate governance, compliance, legal risk, commercial contracts, litigation, and regulatory matters while supporting the organization's strategic initiatives.

What You Will Do

Provide legal advice to executive leadership, lead corporate governance and compliance programs, oversee ethics, regulatory compliance, and enterprise risk management, manage commercial contracts and contract negotiations, direct litigation strategy and coordinate outside counsel, advise on employment law matters, ensure compliance with food industry regulations, support mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, and other corporate transactions, develop legal policies and deliver compliance training.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) with active bar membership
  • Extensive experience as a General Counsel or senior in-house legal executive
  • Strong background in corporate governance, compliance, and commercial transactions
  • Experience managing litigation and enterprise risk
  • Knowledge of privacy and cybersecurity laws
  • Experience working closely with executive leadership and boards of directors
