Role OverviewThe General Engineering Technician I supports utility coordination and permit activities within the Fort Bend Area Office. This role involves reviewing and processing utility permit applications, coordinating with utility companies, developers, consultants, and local agencies, and ensuring compliance with TxDOT policies, standards, and procedures.
What You Will Do
Responsibilities include maintaining accurate records and tracking permit activities through the Right of Way Utility and Lease Information System (RULIS), assisting with utility relocations, preparing correspondence and reports, and providing technical support for transportation projects.

Requirements
- High School Grad or Equivalent in general high school studies
- 4 years in transportation engineering support, roadway maintenance, construction inspection, or related work experience
- Valid driver's license
- Commercial Class "A" Driver's License with an "N" Endorsement or have obtained a CDL "A" License within 120 calendar days from date of employment
