Role OverviewPerform intermediate-level general maintenance tasks in support of facility operations at FLETC Charleston and Naval Weapons Station. As LAUKOA’s General Maintenance Worker II, you will handle a variety of repairs and upkeep duties across campus buildings, ensuring functionality and safety of government facilities in accordance with established standards and schedules.
What You Will Do
Perform building repairs including patching walls, painting, replacing tiles, and minor plumbing or electrical work. Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair facility fixtures, doors, windows, furniture, and hardware. Assist with preventive maintenance duties under the direction of senior staff or lead.
Why It Might Be a Fit
Must be able to obtain a favorable adjudication via a DHS background investigation and maintain suitability clearance. Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident with work authorization.
Requirements
- 2–4 years of hands-on recent experience (within the past 5 years) in building or facility maintenance
- Basic skills across multiple trades including carpentry, plumbing, painting, and electrical
- Ability to use a variety of hand tools and small machinery safely and effectively
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Physically able to lift 50 lbs and work on ladders, in tight spaces, or in adverse weather
- High school diploma or GED required; vocational training preferred
