Role Overview

The General Manager is responsible for achieving hotel profitability through revenue generation, cost control, guest satisfaction, and developing employees, while maintaining the integrity of the hotel. This role involves daily tours of operating departments, weekly staff meetings, and financial reviews. The General Manager must ensure that all department heads maintain budgeted productivity levels and follow Highgate Hotel standard checkbook accounting procedures.

What You Will Do

The General Manager will conduct daily HHBR meetings, participate in required M.O.D. coverage, and maintain direct contact with management trainees. They will also oversee the hotel budget process, ensure complete processing of invoices, and inspect rooms regularly. Additionally, they will forecast monthly the hotel's financial position, analyze previous and projected data, and prepare and conduct all management interviews.

The ideal candidate will have at least 6 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field, or a 4-year college degree and at least 4 to 5 years of related experience. They must be able to multitask, prioritize departmental functions, and maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming. The General Manager must also be effective in handling problems, understanding complex information, and maintaining confidentiality of information.
