Job Description
UAB Facilities is hiring a Nights and Weekends General Mechanic to join our Campus Maintenance team. This role involves a variety of hands-on work, including electrical, plumbing, and HVAC tasks.

Requirements

  • Reads, understands and interprets blueprints drawings, floor plans, schedules and manufacturers' operating and/or maintenance specifications
  • Performs minor, routine and preventive maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment, plumbing systems and fixtures, and building structures and furnishings
  • Assists other maintenance personnel in the completion of their work
  • Troubleshoots and repair electrical systems, including lighting, outlets, switches, motors, and basic control components
  • Maintains a clean work site and area, that minimally interferes with University's operations
