General Service Technician (Part-Time)

Big O General Service Technicians perform service and installation activities associated with store products and services in an accurate and timely manner. This part-time role is based at a Big O Tires store in Columbia, Missouri, and involves working in an in-person setting.

What You Will Do

Drain oil and change oil filter; lubricate vehicles; install, rotate and balance tires and properly torque wheels; check and fill various fluids; check and replace various filters and lights. Unload tires and other merchandise and supplies from transport trucks and warehouse deliveries. Clean facilities, tools, and equipment and stock shelves. Consistently greet and thank customers and provide fast and friendly customer service.

Requirements

• 17 years of age (with parental consent) or older
• Ability to learn new concepts and use technical materials
• Ability to consistently operate a computer and other office productivity machinery
• Ability to safely operate automatic and manual transmission vehicles
• Ability to exchange accurate information with customers
• Ability and willingness to work with hazardous materials
• Ability to consistently work in outdoor weather conditions
• Ability and willingness to comply with Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) regulations
• Valid driver's license
• Vision, hearing, speech, and the ability to detect odors
• Ability to move and position self to move and retrieve product and supplies from shelves, under counters, or stacks of inventory weighing up to 75 pounds
• Availability to work holidays, weekends, and after regular business hours as needed
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the English language to communicate accurately and effectively with customers, coworkers, and supervisors
• Ability to meet company requirements including successful pre-employment screenings
• Legal authorization to work in the United States of America
• Ability to obtain Current Motor Vehicle Inspection license within 6 months of eligibility (for Missouri based stores)
