Job Description
Role Overview

As a Geotechnical Designer/EIT at HDR, you will be responsible for the geotechnical analysis and design of infrastructure projects, including roadways, retaining walls, bridges, buildings, dams, soils, and rock slopes. You will work under the direction of a licensed PE and have opportunities to participate in high-profile infrastructure projects in the southeast and across the United States. You will also review boring logs, laboratory data, and design plans for geotechnical tasks such as slope stability, driven piles, and drilled shafts.

What You Will Do

On a day-to-day basis, you will conduct analyses to develop design options or recommendations, assist in the preparation of cost estimates, plans, and specifications, and oversee geotechnical subsurface characterization programs. You will also set up field exploration programs, coordinate with subcontractors, and perform routine engineering assignments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Experience with MS Office and software applications
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate
  • Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering (preferred)
