Job Description
The Ohio Department of Agriculture is seeking a GIMS Specialist 1 to administer Plant Health GIS applications, assist users, and conduct research. The position involves preparing reports, developing project proposals, and providing technical advice. The ideal candidate will have experience in coordination of operations of geographical information systems or completion of an undergraduate core program in a related field. Requirements

  • Administers various Plant Health GIS applications
  • Assists and educates users regarding GIS technology
  • Conducts research and analysis
  • Prepares reports and gathers statistics
  • Develops project proposals and program plans
  • Provides technical advice
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of ArcGIS Pro and Online technologies
  • Operates state-owned vehicle for field work
  • Transports inspection and sampling equipment
  • Conducts complex analysis of GIS
  • Performs field work and quality control
  • Travels occasionally for meetings and conferences
