Role OverviewThe City of Kent is seeking a GIS Analyst 2 to perform advanced technical work in the use of Geographic Information System (GIS) software and workstations. The ideal candidate will have experience performing advanced work in GIS and a bachelor's degree in a related field. This position includes responsibility for performing a variety of technical work on a wide range of GIS analysis and services to multiple work groups throughout the city.
What You Will Do
The GIS Analyst 2 will perform maintenance of geometry, attribute, and metadata of City GIS datasets, automate GIS tasks using GIS programming languages, create and maintain technical and user documentation, and assist senior GIS staff to develop GIS web services and applications.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The successful incumbent will have knowledge of Geographic Information Systems, specifically ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Enterprise 10.X or above, and be skilled in geographic information systems, using current GIS and operating system programming languages, and communicating effectively both orally and in writing.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in geography, computer science, planning, engineering, or a related field
- At least two (2) years of increasingly responsible work experience in GIS
- Valid Washington State Driver's License
- Ability to obtain a valid Washington State Driver's License within thirty (30) days of employment
