Role Overview

The Railroad Commission of Texas is seeking a GIS Systems Analyst to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in GIS technologies, software development, and a passion for leveraging spatial data to solve complex problems. The role involves assessing existing GIS systems, designing new solutions, and ensuring seamless integration and implementation of GIS solutions using ESRI's suite of software products.

What You Will Do

The GIS Systems Analyst will be responsible for performing highly complex computer systems analysis work, including coordinating with users to identify system requirements, developing functional design specifications, and solving complex operational problems. They will also design, develop, and maintain GIS geodatabases, perform spatial analysis, automate data movement workflows, and use or create APIs.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in computer science, computer information systems, geography, geographic information systems technology, Geomatics, management information systems, or a related field
  • 3+ years' experience using Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) GIS products
  • 3+ years' experience in systems analysis, design, and implementation with expert knowledge of geodatabase management, software development, and integration
  • 3+ years' experience in geospatial databases (e.g., Oracle Spatial, SQL Server)
  • 3+ years' experience with cloud-based GIS platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and serverless computing
  • 3+ years' experience with standard SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle SQL, or T-SQL, and/or Python 3.x
  • Valid Texas Driver's License and good driving record
