Job Description
Lyon County is seeking a GIS Tech to maintain the GIS division, assist the Lyon County Appraiser's Office and the Lyon County Planning & Zoning Department, and provide mapping support to other county departments and legal agencies.

Requirements

  • Day-to-day maintenance of the GIS division
  • Assisting the Lyon County Appraiser and appraisal personnel in their daily duties
  • Providing mapping support and assistance for other county departments, legal agencies, and property owners
  • Maintaining and updating GIS data, including shapefiles, geodatabases, and feature class ArcGIS Enterprise layers
  • Assisting with GIS data integration with the County's CAMA system
  • Reviewing and updating GIS zoning data layers for changes or corrections
  • Assisting property owners with explaining tract parcel descriptions, agricultural parcel measurements, and parcel sizes for valuation purposes
  • Providing maps and data files to staff and others as needed
  • Assisting with migration and maintenance of certain GIS data to ArcGIS Enterprise Portal
  • Administering the County's Beacon web portal, including subscription management, parcel data, and geo-permitting responsibilities
