Job Description
The Texas General Land Office is seeking an Auditor I (Minerals Auditor) to perform entry-level to routine auditing work. The Minerals Auditor will research, reconcile and audit various accounts related to energy resources, including reviews for lease compliance, and report findings.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in Accounting, Business Administration, BBA-Computer Information Systems, Economics, Finance, Geology, Petroleum Engineering, or related degree
  • Testing: The Excel exam will cover essential functions like using pivot tables, building formulas, and performing sorting, filtering and formatting
  • Master's degree in business or accounting preferred
  • 1 - 2 years full-time progressive experience participating in governmental, financial, program area, organizational, performance, policy, and/or compliance audits preferred
  • 1-2 years of experience performing audits of state or federal oil and gas royalties, grants, financial statements, contracts, IT systems or governmental auditing preferred
  • Experience with Workiva or other audit software preferred
  • CIA, CPA, CFE, APA or CISA certification preferred
