Role OverviewThe Grade 5 Teacher - Long-term Substitute will work under the direction of the school principal, and collaboratively with the grade-level team, to provide an exceptional and nurturing learning environment where students feel safe, valued and respected.
What You Will Do
On a daily basis, the teacher will continually assess student progress and growth, provide ongoing student supervision, regularly share written and verbal feedback with students and families, maintain records of student performance, and continually seek to develop professionally to bring the most current and innovative learning practices to the classroom.

Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree
- Current Connecticut Teacher Elementary Certification (must include Grade 5)
- Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work cooperatively with other office personnel
- Ability to handle and treat information confidentially
- Ability to relate effectively with staff, parents, students and the public
- Ability to plan and organize work schedule and set priorities
- Ability to work independently and with a sense of urgency
- Ability to motivate students, inspire trust and confidence in students, while working with patience and understanding
