Role OverviewBaxter & Woodman has a fulfilling opportunity for a Graduate Engineer I in our Austin, TX office. As a Graduate Engineer I, you will assist Project Manager(s) by providing engineering design support for various water and wastewater projects. Your day-to-day will include assisting with preparation of construction plans and specifications, performing design calculations, conducting research, drafting various engineering reports, and evaluating municipal infrastructure systems.
What You Will Do
Your work assignments will include both independent tasks and collaborative efforts as part of a project team. You will periodically conduct field investigations to verify site conditions and collect data, and attend on-site meetings with field project representatives and/or contractors.

To be successful in this role, you must have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam in the state of Texas or be capable of passing, or transferring, exam within the first six months of employment. You should also have strong verbal, computer, organizational, and writing skills, and be able to travel throughout Baxter & Woodman’s service area (own transportation).
Requirements
- B.S. degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering
- Must have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam in the state of Texas or be capable of passing, or transferring, exam within the first six months of employment.
